Enthusiasm

We were discussing the meaning of words in Pommer's class today and the word "Enthusiasm" got brought up. I knew what it means but what I didn't know was what the word literally means. Enthusiasm comes from the word "Entheos." "En" means "in" and "Theos" means "God." How funny is it that such a word as "Enthusiasm" literally means "to be filled with or possessed by God," and yet it makes perfect sense. Webster defines "Enthusiasm" as "intense and eager enjoyment, interest, or approval." When you're around enthusiastic people, it starts to catch on and you get enthusiastic yourself. (This doesn't work for everyone unfortunately, but f you've ever known an enthusiastic person in your life, you know what I'm talking about.)

Through God comes all life. Music, laughter, and Joy. (Not happiness, find me where in the Bible it says 'God wants us to be happy.' I dare you. Happiness is temporary, Joy is forever.) So wouldn't it make sense that such a thing as Enthusiasm would come from him as well?

Psalm 66:1-4
"Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
Sing the glory of his name;
Give to him glorious praise!
